Installing the software for the PiMaker is, at this point, a little harder than usual. I'm working on a single setup process, but until then, follow the below steps to get your PiMaker up and running.
Step #1 is to acquire all the needed software. I've broken it down into two simple packages. First, download the Repetier Host software from: www.repetier.org This software package has a Windows installer that is very complete and installs most of the required software needed for the PiMaker.
Next, download the PiMaker modified version of the Repetier Host software from the PiMaker website at: www.pimaker.com/pimakersetup.zip
Unzip that file and run the installer. Choose the same installation directory that you installed the Reptier software in during it's installation to insure that you have all the required dependencies in the correct place.
The last piece of the puzzle is the driver software for the printer. Be sure you install it prior to plugging in your PiMaker into your computer. The PiMaker uses the Printrboard electronics to drive it and you can download their driver here: pjrc.com/teensy/serial_install.exe
Once you have installed the driver, you can plug in the PiMaker to any USB port and it should recognize it. Determine the COM Port that was installed and run the PiMaker-Host software. Set up the printer options and point it to the new COM port. Use a speed of 250kbps or 115kbps. (Try 250 first, as it is the default.) Leave all the other settings alone.
Click the "Connect" button on the left of the menu bar and the printer should now be connected. You can test it by switching to the last tab in the right panel and manually moving the extruder, build plate and gantry around using the arrow buttons.
